Take the Vincera Pledge

Taking the pledge -- click here and print the pledge. Put it on your fridge or save it to your phone...commit to yourself!

Whether you training for your first 5K or 4th marathon, it can be difficult to stay motivated! Training for a race is a mental, physical and emotional challenge. There might be days when you feel like giving up… maybe it’s too cold, you don’t feel like getting out of bed, or maybe you just are not having a good day. These are the days when a personal mantra can help.

I pledge to...

Believe in myself.

In the words of Michael Jordan, “You must expect great things of yourself before you can do them.”

Stay healthy.

Educate yourself on getting the right nutrition, learn proper stretching techniques, and listen to your body! Read Vincera Foundation Tips how to stay healthy during your training and race day.

Encourage others.

Sometimes the best way to stay motivated is to reach out to others and help them get motivated. Find a running buddy and you can motivate each other.

Stay positive.

Take it from Gladys Burrill, a 92-year old women who completed the Honolulu Marathon in 2010! "It's so important to think positive," she said. "It's easy to get discouraged and be negative. It makes such a difference in how you feel and your outlook on everything."

Be committed.

Stay dedicated to a training schedule. All the self-discipline and determination will pay off in the end when you cross that finish line!

Vincera Foundation is proud to be a sponsor of Generation Run 5K. We applaud you, runners! Enjoy the challenge!
